Changes to my study program
Hi to all my readers!
On this blog (the final) I write about some changes that I would be made in my career (journalism).
First of all, I think what my studies program is very good. I really like the courses and the teachers but some contents are a little boring. Leaving that aside, and with every intention to criticize, the things I would change are:
Regarding the curriculum:
- I would eliminate some basic training electives, since to fulfill the credits you have to take 8 courses! That's too many.
- I would add more options for specialization electives since there are only the traditional ones (politics, sports, and reporting).
- Finally, I would add one or two semesters of specialized English (with journalistic language).
๐⭐Regarding the workload:
- I find it an undemanding and relaxed career.
- Regarding the duration, 5 years seems to me to be the optimum.
Regarding the facilities: I think that the faculty of communication is small compared to other majors on campus.
- I would repaint the facade and the murals.
- I would fix the ceilings.
- I would improve and enlarge the bathrooms, the auditorium, the dining room.
- I would add green areas.
Regarding the use of technology:
I think the university in general is well advanced, we have apps like u-courses and sites like u-campus.
In the faculty there are projectors in all the rooms, and the handkerchief technologies (cameras, microphones, etc) are very complete. There is also a television production room that is beautiful. The radio seems to me that it could have more production islands.
- But if I had to change anything, I would increase the number of computers and make sure they all work.
I think the real problem is knowing how to be pedagogical, and this is where many teachers fail because they are journalists and not teachers. However, if you tell them how they can improve, they will. They are very tender and good people.๐๐
I hope you enjoyed my blog, see you soon!.
